WINTER TRAINING RIDE BLUES

So you're an "A" rider, always have been, always will be. But with the family, school, weather, etc., you haven't been out much lately. So you aren't too terribly upset that the ride has moved smoothly along at 18 mph for the last hour and a half. Then it happens...a green sign appears on the horizon, Team Florida breaks en masse followed closely by the Canadian National Team, and then by everyone else. And you are on your own 30 miles from home as the peleton speeds away at 30 mph. It takes you two hours to get home. What went wrong?

You were on the wrong ride! Remember when you were feeling good as the pack rolled along at 18 mph? Well, that's how a GCC "B" ride moves. But on a "B" ride, the peleton will not speed away at 30 mph halfway into the ride. So the next time you can get away for a ride, think survival and forget macho...try a "B" ride.
